CRWN is currently in the accumulation phase — building the endowment before deploying investment income.
Built Right
Big ideas fail without structure. CRWN Foundation is built to last.
The Foundation is governed by a board of directors operating under a formal Investment Policy Statement. Funds are held with a licensed and regulated investment custodian. As a registered 501(c)(3) public charity, CRWN is required to file a public Form 990 with the IRS every year — a record anyone can look up on GuideStar or ProPublica's Nonprofit Explorer.
CRWN is built on structure you can verify.
Governance
CRWN's endowment is invested in a diversified mix of bonds, stocks, and direct investments in community businesses — managed under a formal Investment Policy Statement adopted by the full board. That statement defines the allocation strategy, risk parameters, and the relationship with our third-party custodian. All investment decisions are overseen by our Board Investment Committee, which meets regularly to review investment performance, spending, and organizational direction.
